Omni Apartments-Hell On Earth

I have received so many complaints about this one rental property in Las Cruces, NM That I am dedicating this blog page just for the Omni Apartments. About 3 years ago I nearly rented there, but after getting a bad taste in my mouth after the tour I decided to beat fast.

First of All check out the poll at the bottom of the page. And check as many problems that you have had when you either stayed here or just visited someone living here.

I will format this article to cover ALL alleged infractions by this company. When I put 'Verified' this will have been verified by an independent source.


The main problem seems to be with the manager of this place. Bonnie Ferguson seems to think EVERYONE here must bow low to her, especially since she has gone into some sort of unnamed partnership with the owner. Assuming this is true. This has yet to be verified. But who is Bonnie well descriptive wise she is alot like this picture. Only scarier. It's an appropriate representation since she like to snoop into individual apartments. STATUS: VERIFIED



Next is the Anti-Pet Policies: VERIFIED. Do not move your pets here to this negative energy black hole. You will be thrown out. Manager also admits to setting traps for neighborhood cats and calling animal control. Then they ultimately killed at the pound because of this sort of hate inspired policies. Warning to the home owners down the hill from here...If your pussy is missing check The Omni Traps. Location, hidden between the two properties near a locked off grey shed.

Discrimination against service animals. No report of any one with a service animal staying there. STATUS: UNVERIFIED


Children not welcome: Oh you say it's illegal to refuse to rent to children? Well there are ways to make it uncomfortable enough for them that they don't want to stay. They have 2 pools but no play area for the kids. There are kids staying there but you never see or hear them. Good in one way . BUT if you don't see them, out and about, could it be their parents are afraid they will get thrown out if they are seen and heard. STATUS: PENDING



Illegal activities by disreputable tenants: Is there drinking, drugs and fornication on the property?

This is one of 3 video cameras in use on the property. This one is off the back of the main building and faces the pool. It's used so the manager can watch the drunks here with their booze swimming away and pissing in the pool. Since she doesn't do anything of any importance here, she just plays the voyeur. The other two are located in the same area in the two laundry rooms. So basically this place is totally without security of any kind. But she does have paid snitches. Obviously
not compensated good enough or things wouldn't be so out of hand here. COMING SOON: Name the snitch contest. We can warn people way from this type of person and have fun too!


General Repair of Property: Potholes, cracking cement on buildings, pealing paint. See a typical door to the left. More pictures soon to be posted.

Will be doing a test on the pool water quality and the safety of the waters going into the apartments as well.

Smell: It seems that there maybe a budding problem with the sewer system here. At various points around the property an odd odor emanates from no particular source. This is particularly noticeable on a warn windless day.

We also have suspicious linear cracking inside the buildings and outside. This is indicators that there has been land shifting, or possibly earth tremors, shifting the land. Are the buildings safe?

Anti Green STATUS: VERIFIED. Has lots of non desert plants and grass. This looks nice, but the way the front area is in particular, that most of the water runs off down through the parking lots. They are wasting millions of gallons of water a year. This same water waste goes onto Triviz causing damage to the asphalt there. And as a result, we citizens have to pay for the repairs to the road because of their neglect.

Unreasonable rent raises was imposed when Bonnie Ferguson became a partner. At originate rates, this property was marginally overcharging for what is offered. The rooms are motel styled one bedroom offerings. the paint is low grade as well as the cabinetry. The rugs have no padding and are of a similar cheap quality. Some are rented with stained carpets and cracked tiles. And yet the lease states that the rooms are rents as new. This is impossible since the property has been here for over 10 years. For the rent raise, they offered basic Dish TV Satellite TV and high speed internet. Only after purchasing their modems, that is. This did not compensate for a $55 hike. If you did not want their services, you had no choice, you were charged even if you did not want or need them.

Underage NMSU Students: Alot of parents plant their children here since it is close to the university. But unlike a dorm,they are lose to do as they please. Drinking...etc. There is no policing here. Management takes no active role in the safety of your kids or anyone else living here.

Refusal to return deposits: No matter the condition of the apartment when you leave, do not expect to see a penny back of the money paid here. STATUS: VERIFIED

Omni Apartments is in conjunction with Centre Square Apartments directly off the rear of it on Payne Street. It's by in far dirty and dingier than the Omni is. If you want to do some real great criminal activity there, Centre Square is the perfect place to open business. Please take note of the contact information on this hand painted sign....Who says Hell isn't on Earth with a phone number like that. Or at least Hell IS the Omni Apartments.



Money making opportunity available: This pothole is a perfect fall and sue situation just waiting to happen. It's just a sloppy loose stone repair that regularly gets rocks knocked out of it. Are you a good actor who can make a mountain out of a mole hill? Then just take an Omni 'Trip Trot' and maybe you will end up owning the place.


Special Warning to Tenants: For you're convenience the Omni is now offering automatic EFT's for you rent payments....DO NOT DO THIS. This gives them access to your bank account. They can take your rent out even if you move out. Not to mention having all your banking information to get it set up. So don't be lazy, just dump the check in the slot and you won't look at her. That's what the majority does...and why they do it.

I strongly suggest at this point in time that the residents of Omni form a renters association and oust that manager once and for all. Just cause she was stupid enough to buy into a partnership with the owner, on a building heading into disrepair, doesn't mean that she cannot be asked to step down or O'Donnell buy her out. I'm sure he knew that if she got out of hand that he did have that clause in their contract. She is negatively impacting his business, and has been for years, and as it looks that the property is now 1/3 to 1/4 empty....And this have nothing to do with a bad economy....Just a Bad Bonnie.
